The Journal of Marshall Pittsburgh: Gunfight in Goodsprings

October 19, 2281

Following Ringo’s suggestion, I decided to ask some of the good folk of Goodsprings if they’d be willing to help me and Ringo against the Powder Gangers. My first stop was the Prospector Saloon. Sunny greeted me as I stepped in and asked me what I was up to. She wanted in to help fight against the gangers. She suggested that we try to recruit four other people: Trudy, Chet, Doc Mitchell, and Easy Pete.

Since we were still in the Prospector’s, we tried to recruit Trudy first. I picked up some speaking tips from a magazine and managed to convince Trudy to join our side. She would rally a few more folks to come join Sunny, me and Ringo for the fight. The next person to talk to was Easy Pete. According to Sunny, Pete was a former miner who happened to have some extra dynamite. Pete did not want to part with his dynamite unless it was to someone who knew how to handle it. Thankfully I do. Two out of four done.

Next was Doc Mitchell. The doc’s position was that of wellbeing for the town. It didn’t take any convincing for him to part with a couple of Stimpaks. The last man to see was Chet, the proprietor of Goodsprings’s general store. Sunny said that he would have some leather armor to protect the townsfolk. Sadly, he wasn’t keen about parting with it. I tried to reason with him, but he would not it give up. Three out of four isn’t bad.

I returned to the gas station and informed Ringo about the success I’d had. He was thrilled that we would have some help in the fight. It was late by this point in the day. We decided to turn in for the night so that we would be ready tomorrow.

It was a showdown at high noon. Well actually it was closer to ten. Shortly after Ringo and I woke came, Sunny visited and told us that the powders gangers were closing in. With her, Trudy, and some of the other denizens of Goodsprings, it was time to fight. Thanks to Easy Pete’s dynamite and some well placed shots from the varmint rifle Sunny gave me yesterday, the gangers were dealt with no trouble. And no friendly casualties either.

After dealing with the Powder Gangers, I chatted up Ringo and Sunny one last time inside the saloon. Ringo was happy that I helped save him and gave me a payment of caps as a show of thanks. He was heading back to California now that he was safe. The fellow suggested I look up the Crimson Caravan Company in New Vegas if I ever needed work. Sunny said Primm was just south along the highway. Couldn’t miss it with the big roller coaster. With this helpful information in mind, I set off to find that checker suited man and his thugs. They went that-a-way…
