The third and final stop of my car show tour had me in Casper, WY which is 90 minutes north of Wheatland not counting construction slowdowns. It can be argued that Casper is one of the quote-unquote “big cities” of Wyoming along with places like Cheyenne, Laramie, and Gillette. If World Atlas is to be believed, Casper is the 2nd biggest city in the state only behind our capital in terms of population.
Ah, but you didn’t come here for a geography lesson. I’m sure most of you want to see which cars caught my attention at the car show. Here’s the answer: a lot of them. Why were a lot of them attention catching? Because they were all unique. Now of course, all cars are unique. Unique in this case means that unfamiliar models.
I am confident that many of this blog’s readers can recognize select automotive models easily due to their common usage in popular culture and consistent marketing and branding. We all know what a Dodge Charger or Challenger looks like. We are familiar with the stylings of the Chevy Camaro and Corvettes. If we have seen one Ford Mustang, we have likely seen them all even if the are from different decades. But how many of us would immediately recognize an Oldsmobile Starfire, a Chrysler Imperial, or a Dodge La Femme?
I have made the decision to break up this gallery blog into two parts. The first part will focus on classic American makes and models, and the second part will more custom and “exotic” cars. There will be a total of nine cars showcased across these two posts, split five and four respectively. I will publish them on the same day to tell the story all at once.
